Gostynin – a town and commune in the Masovian Voivodeship, in the Gostynin County. According to data from December 31, 2010, the city had 18,888 inhabitants. In the years 1975-1998, the town administratively belonged to the Płock Voivodeship. In Gostynin, there is a football club Mazur Gostynin, founded in 1926, currently playing in the 6th league. Mazur's greatest success is playing in the 4th league (in the second half of the 20th century). This team, along with the team from Sierpc, is the oldest club from the Płock district that still functions today.
