The city stretches over 12.5 km in the meridional direction, and only 6.2 km in the latitudinal direction. To the south of the Osa estuary there is Kępa Forteczna (86.1 m above sea level), and south of it – Kępa Strzemięcińska (79.3 m above sea level). Grudziądz is located on the 835th km of the Vistula River. The width of the river bed within the city ranges from 320 to 500 m, and the river slope is 0.18%. The depth of the river bed is up to 9 m.
