Rusinowo - a village in Poland located in the Zachodniopomorskie Province, Sławno County, Postomino Commune. According to the author of Rusinow's monograph, Karl Rosenow, the village was founded under German law around 1300 by Rutz, who brought settlers from Lower Saxony and the Rhineland. The noted forms of the name of the village: Rusenhagen (1444), Ruczenhagen (1496), Rutzenhagen (1545), Rützenhagen (1730) actually suggest that the founder was a representative of the von Rutze family (Russe, Rusche, Reutz, Ritze and similar) coming from the village of Rutze / Russee (now Russee - a district of Kiel) in Holstein. Rusinowo was established on a series of moraine hills, parallel to the seashore, with the culmination of Ficht Berg (Góra Świerk) rising at 32 m above sea level, after the oak and beech forests overgrowing them were cleared. This is indicated by the second part of the name of the village: hagen - meaning a fence, a hedge, but also an axis. So it was a typical stubble village (Hagendorf), founded on the so-called raw root, also referred to in the literature as hagen or axial. Initially, and later mostly Germans, the tenants of the hagen family. The fact that Rusinowo was founded by German settlers is also evidenced by field names - out of over 80 field names lying within the village boundaries, only two: Jamen (Jahm) and die Glawenitz (Krautglawnitz, Tote Glawnitz), currently Główniczka, are of Slavic origin.
