Shelters

The shelter functions also as an eating place, and sometimes provides some additional services such as, for example, a tour desk or a tourist or sports equipment rental. The mountain shelters rule is that every arriving tourist has a right to rest, even in most provisional conditions. Thus, when we set off to the mountains, we can be sure that we will never encounter any closed door and we won't have to wonder where we would be staying.
The mountain shelter is not the only facility of this type that we can encounter in mountainous regions. In some regions there are also shepherd’s huts, and in more desolate and inaccessible parts of the mountains there are some undeveloped shelters to provide a place of rest and shelter from the weather as well as the accommodation and the opportunity to self-prepare a meal.
Outside the mountain areas, there are youth shelters located in majority in the cities and towns. These facilities are usually open seasonally in the summer and are located in the school and university buildings.
