In Ruciane, the southernmost marina of Żegluga Mazurska operates in the summer. In December 1956, in the south of the Nida housing estate and on the western shore of Lake Nidzkie, the Fibre and Chipboard Plant was established. It was one of the most modern facilities of this type in Poland and Europe, employing approximately 1,500 inhabitants of Ruciane-Nida and its vicinity. In 1995, the plant declared bankruptcy.
