Świny is a village in Poland located in the Lower Silesia Province, in the poviat of Jawor, in the municipality of Bolków, in the Kaczawskie Foothills in the Sudetenland. In the years 1975-1998, the town was located in the Jelenia Góra voivodship. Originally, there was a castellan castle (later the Świna Castle) and a servant settlement. The castle served as an administrative and military function. It was mentioned for the first time in the chronicle of Kosmas in 1108 under the name Zvini in Polonia. Then, in the document of Pope Hadrian IV, he was mentioned as a Zpini castellan castle. From the middle of the 13th century, as a result of passing the castle through trade routes, the significance of the settlement decreased, the function of castles decreased, the only military function remained the only function of the Pigs.
