The hostel at Polana Chochołowska (1,146 m above sea level) is the best accommodation base for trips to the Western Tatras. Located in the Chochołowska Valley, the outlet of which is about 10 km from Zakopane. It is the largest valley in the Tatra Mountains, covering over 35 km2, covered with a spruce forest, which looks most beautiful in spring, when crocuses bloom and sheep grazing begins in the pastures. The hostel has a room for organizing special events or conferences. From this point on, the Chochołowska Valley is closed to mechanized vehicle traffic. Paid parking in Siwa Polana. You can move further: on foot. Time of the trip: to Polana Chochołowska 2:05 h by the "Rakoń" train, which runs every half an hour and goes to Polana Huciska by bike. There is a bicycle rental, which you can go further than the tractor railway, because you can get to the forester's lodge by a highlander's carriage, which can be reached even further - to the Chochołowska Clearing itself. Entrance to the valley, as in the entire Tatra Mountains, is charged several zlotys. Zakopane - a legend city, a resort, the capital of the Tatra Mountains and in winter all of Poland. It's good to go skiing here in winter. The proximity of the slopes, unique atmosphere, colorful highlander folklore and beautiful landscapes will make you come back here many times. For some, Zakopane is a starting point for the only high Polish mountains, others come here, if only to stroll along Krupówki - the main promenade of the city, a place for meetings and entertainment. There are plenty of cozy cafes, gourmet restaurants, souvenir shops and art galleries. Zakopane is not only leather moccasins, warm highlander wool sweaters, wooden ciupags or oscypek, but most of all the atmosphere of this place, unique anywhere else.
