LOCATION

The small village of Ostromecko is located three kilometers away from Bydgoszcz, on the Chełmno
Land, at the Vistula River bend, on its right bank.
It is a unique place, situated on a picturesque site with great scenic assets, overgrown for centuries by coniferous forests. It is known for its magnificent palace estate with a park, a genuine architectural gem, consisting of two palaces surrounded with a park featuring lush and nicely maintained greenery.
Ostromecko is known also for its deep-rooted history, serving as a stop for rulers, a place in which the Polish freedom fighters,Napoleon’s Army and the Prussian Army had stationed

OSTROMECKO PARK

Visitors coming to the local Palace and Park Estate are impressed with its magnificent green areas. Beautiful, hundred year old oaks grow next to chestnut trees, larches, lindens, hornbeams, maples and white poplars. These lush trees grow in attractive compositions with shrubs.
Although many trees planted by the former owners
of the estate have not survived, there are about thirty of them, over hundred year old, designated as national natural landmarks. In the park, we can also find the Neoromanesque tombstone of the Alvensleben family, built in 1878–1887. Near the gate, there is a mosaic floor, a reminder of a chapel that had once stood on this site.

THE PRESENT

Today, the historic Mostowski manor house and the Neoclassicist palace with the entire park belong
to Bydgoszcz Township. It is administered by the Municipal Culture Center, on behalf of the township,
which is involved in turning it into a suburban cultural center for the residents of Bydgoszcz and its surrounding area.During the spring-summer season, the Palace and Park Estate in Ostromecko hosts classical and entertainment music concerts, open-air events, workshops, exhibitions, and meetings with poetry. The palace houses a little cafe. The spacious palace interiors offer a perfect opportunity for organization of music recitals, parties on special occasion, concerts and conferences. Twenty two tastefully designed palace rooms offer accommodation to 60 guests.
